Commercial Electro Plating offers stainless steel electropolishing and passivation services for the metal fabrication, food processing, automotive, and machining industries. Electropolishing is the controlled removal of substrate material, which imparts a highly reflective surface finish. This process diminishes scratches, burrs, and unwanted sharp edges while creating a “super-passivated" surface that maximizes the corrosion resistant properties of the stainless steel. Our electropolishing line handles parts measuring up to 66" x 30" x 27" and weighing up to 300 lbs.
Passivation forms an extremely thin, protective oxide surface film, and is a crucial step for maximizing the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Our passivation line is able to accommodate parts measuring up to 45" x 34" x 27". Passivation baths are capable of dissolving the most microscopic contaminants left on the part surface during machining. For customer specification purposes, we are able to measure the surface roughness of electropolished parts (the average roughness of this surface) before and after polishing. Electropolishing provides a strong and durable finish that will prevent rust or corrosion, meets ASTM A 967-05 standards for passivation, and meets electropolish ASTM B 912-02 standards.
On both lines, electropolishing and passivation, we adhere to strict quality control procedures which ensures a completely defect-free finish. For more information about our stainless steel electropolishing and passivation services, contact Commercial Electro Plating today.
